Patrick Darcy’s Rugby Confessions…
The fourth book in Patrick Darcy’s Gay Rugby Player series is out today. Star Irish rugby player, Conor Murphy, lives and breathes rugby. He spends his weekends playing rugby, drinking beer, and singing songs with his teammates. There is only one thing he loves more than rugby, and that is hot rugby players. But after the final whistle sounds, the real competition begins: the hunt for the hottest men.
In this installment, we see Connor and Oisin seemingly having the time of their life, relationship wise, until Sean steps in. The tour brings Conor and Oisin to London where apart from the complications of the game, the complications with Sean arise. Oisin is just the most adorable power bottom, and watching Conor go all Dom on him was fun. I liked that the author managed to make Conor’s character cocky and funny and charismatic, and listening to the thoughts in his head is always fun.
I like that despite Conor’s penchant for having hookups, when he is in a relationship he doesn’t sleep around. This particular series I feel was very different from the usual crap that’s being sold as MM fiction these days. Conor is unapologetic and that makes him incredibly appealing as a character and even though he keeps saying emotions are for women, it’s pretty obvious he can be just as emotional for the right person. Whether that person is going to be Sean or Oisin, that is the real question.
Here’s an Excerpt:
There is spring in my step, smile on my face and semi between my legs. Was that the best night’s sleep I had in a year?Yeah, I think it was. Fuck me! I feel fucking amazing. That smile does not leave me while I have breakfast with
the other lads, or on the way out to the grounds on the tube.
“Did you get laid last night?”
“Fuck you, Enda, I’m just in great form. You ready to kick ass?” Enda looks at
me like I have something wrong with me.
“Did you take something? You’re acting fucking weird.”
“No! What’s that supposed to mean,‘weird?’ I’m just enjoying the craic.”
“I’m just saying, bai, that ye is a moody bollix before most games.” Enda is right, I normally am.With my game head on, I’m so serious, ready to kill blah, blah, oh so serious, blah. But this morning, I feel ready to rock and just simply happy. Don’t ask me why. I just feel it. It’s a bit like that scene from Predator the first one, when they are all in the chopper heading into the jungle. There is a job to be done. Some of us are serious. Me, I’m the one telling the joke about the woman’s pussy. But trust me, I’m a mean killing machine. Conor Murphy, star loose forward, chopper down of all this that moves. Today is going to be a good day, I can feel it in my semi. Oh yes, my semi. I hope this thing does not get excited at the wrong moment. Mind you, it might scare the shite out of those English pretty boys. Watch out Brits, I’m coming to fuck you.
